The summer has flown by! There are so many adventures since my last update. This August was full of weddings, and pre-wedding parties, and so. much. sewing. Both bridesmaid dresses required major repairs. The dresses and the weddings were lovely!
Unfortunately, during the last wedding of August, my dad was hospitalized due to chest pain and required emergency open heart surgery two days later. I took some time off in September to be at the hospital with him and to help him get settled back home. He’s doing well after a few road bumps and is expected to make a full recovery.
September is one of my favorite months! The trees change color, the sun is still warm, but the nights are cool enough for bonfires, and its my birthday month. This year I got to celebrate with small groups of people here and there and it was absolutely delightful, low key, and peaceful.
Recently, I was treated to a delicious dinner and craft time with a few friends. Such a great time.
My prayer and encouragement group went on our first retreat weekend. We spent most of the weekend praying and enjoying the view of the Mississippi out our back door.
And somewhere along the way I also survived freak urban flooding and managed to carve out some Auntie Time to teach this beautiful girl how to make donuts. Trust me, she’s happier about this than she looks. That’s chocolate she’s holding.:)
